Overview

The nVent F44WN6SS Nipple Feed-Through Wireway is a precision-engineered stainless steel 304 component designed to seamlessly connect adjacent wireway sections or fittings in industrial applications where durability and corrosion resistance are critical. Manufactured by nVent, a global leader in electrical and thermal management solutions, this 6.00-inch nipple provides a robust feed-through solution for adjusting wireway length while maintaining protection for electrical wiring and cables in the most demanding environments. Its brushed stainless steel construction ensures long-term performance in frequently hosed-down, highly corrosive, or wet conditions, making it an ideal choice for industries such as food and beverage processing, pharmaceutical manufacturing, chemical processing, water treatment facilities, and marine applications where exposure to moisture, chemicals, and harsh cleaning protocols is routine. Engineered for versatility and reliability, the F44WN6SS nipple feed-through wireway is part of nVent’s comprehensive line of stainless steel wire management solutions. Its 4.00 x 4.00 x 6.00 inch dimensions allow for precise alignment and secure connection between wireway sections, ensuring continuous protection for conductors and cables. The stainless steel 304 grade offers superior resistance to oxidation, pitting, and crevice corrosion—common threats in industrial settings—while maintaining structural integrity under temperature fluctuations and mechanical stress. This material choice is particularly advantageous in facilities subject to stringent hygiene standards or regulatory compliance, such as USDA or FDA-regulated environments, where stainless steel is the material of choice for its cleanability and non-reactive properties. Installation is straightforward and tool-friendly, designed to integrate with standard wireway systems without the need for complex modifications. The nipple’s feed-through design allows for clean passage of wires between sections, reducing the risk of abrasion or damage during installation or maintenance. This feature is especially valuable in retrofit projects or when upgrading existing systems, as it minimizes downtime and labor costs. Professionals in electrical contracting, plant engineering, and industrial maintenance rely on nVent’s feed-through nipples for their consistent performance and compatibility with a wide range of fittings and accessories, including elbows, tees, and reducers. Selecting the right feed-through nipple involves considering environmental exposure, material compatibility, and system pressure requirements. nVent’s stainless steel 304 construction is well-suited for applications involving mild acids, alkalis, and chlorides, though for more aggressive chemical environments, users may consider higher-grade alloys like 316 stainless steel. The F44WN6SS is manufactured in the United States, ensuring adherence to strict quality control standards and traceability—key factors for procurement teams sourcing critical infrastructure components. With a UNSPSC code of 39131710, this product aligns with standardized procurement categories for electrical wire management systems, simplifying integration into enterprise purchasing systems. Why choose nVent for your wireway solutions? With decades of experience in thermal and electrical management, nVent delivers products backed by rigorous testing, global certifications, and responsive technical support. The F44WN6SS nipple feed-through wireway exemplifies this commitment, offering a durable, corrosion-resistant solution that enhances system reliability and safety. Whether connecting wireway sections in a food processing plant, a pharmaceutical cleanroom, or an offshore oil platform, professionals trust nVent to provide components that perform consistently under pressure—literally and figuratively. How to Install the Feed-Through Wireway

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing and configuring the Feed-Through Wireway, ensuring proper assembly and connection.

Estimated time: 1h

Tools needed:

Screwdriver, Drill, Wire strippers

Supplies needed:

Mounting screws, Gaskets, Nuts, Lockwashers, Threaded rods

  1. Assemble the wireway sections

Place a gasket between the flanges of the wireway sections and secure them using screws and nuts as shown in the assembly details.

  2. Install the telescope fitting

Assemble the telescope fitting parts in the correct order, insert the body into the straight section, and adjust to the desired length. Ensure the gasket is properly positioned and secure it with the compression ring using screws and nuts.

  3. Anchor the telescope fitting

If the telescope fitting is used vertically, drill .25 inch diameter holes through the straight section and telescope fitting. Install .25−20x.5 screws from the outside and secure with cap nuts and lockwashers.

  4. Cut the wireway to length

Cut the wireway body to the desired length, ensuring a square cut. Weld an extra flange to the body and grind off any burrs or sharp edges.

  5. Install the swivel nipple

Position the wireway section, flange gasket, swivel ring, and swivel nipple in order. Secure the swivel nipple with clips, screws, and nuts.

  6. Make box entries

For box entries, cut out the enclosure as shown in the details. Position the box connector and gasket inside the enclosure, and place another gasket between the wireway and the enclosure surface.

  7. Install hangers

Assemble the hangers as shown in the details, ensuring they do not fit between adjacent wireway flanges. Attach them to the wireway flanges in various positions.
