Overview

The nVent F22WSA (SKU: F22WSA) is a NEMA Type 12 steel feed-through box entry fitting designed for 2.50 x 2.50 inch wireway systems. This component facilitates the secure entry of wireway into electrical enclosures, offering angular adjustment via its swivel nipple design. This adjustability is crucial for precise alignment, minimizing cable stress, and simplifying installation in complex or confined spaces. Constructed from durable steel with an industrial gray finish, the F22WSA provides robust mechanical strength and protection against dust ingress, essential for maintaining the integrity of electrical systems in manufacturing, automation, and processing facilities. Its design ensures a dust-tight seal when integrated with enclosures. Manufactured in the US, it adheres to high standards for reliability in industrial environments. The swivel nipple feature allows for adjustment to any angle, making it ideal for situations requiring precise alignment or when working in tight spaces. This box entry type is specifically designed for transitioning wireway runs into electrical enclosures, ensuring a secure and protected connection. The steel construction offers excellent durability and resistance to physical impact, while the gray finish provides a standard industrial aesthetic.
  • Feed-Through Swivel Nipples are used for adjusting wireway to different angles
  • Regular type is used between adjacent wireway sections or fittings while the box entry type is used when entering an enclosure
  • Protects wires and cables against dust in a broad range of industrial applications
  • Facilitates secure wireway entry into electrical enclosures

How to Install the Feed-Through Wireway

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing and configuring the Feed-Through Wireway, ensuring proper assembly and connection.

Estimated time: 1h

Tools needed:

Screwdriver, Drill, Wire strippers

Supplies needed:

Mounting screws, Gaskets, Nuts, Lockwashers

  1. Assemble the wireway sections

Place a gasket between the flanges of the wireway sections and secure them using screws and nuts as shown in the assembly details.

  2. Install the telescope fitting

Assemble the telescope fitting parts in the correct order, insert it into the straight section, and adjust to the desired length. Ensure the gasket is properly positioned against the flange.

  3. Anchor the telescope fitting

Drill .25 inch diameter holes through the straight section and telescope fitting at the desired extension. Install .25−20x.5 screws through the holes from the outside and secure with cap nuts and lockwashers.

  4. Cut the wireway to length

Cut the wireway body to the desired length, ensuring a square cut. Weld an extra flange to the body and grind off any burrs or sharp edges.

  5. Install the swivel nipple

Position the wireway section, flange gasket, swivel ring, and swivel nipple in order. Secure the assembly with screws and nuts, ensuring all components are tightly fastened.

  6. Make box entries

Cut out the necessary openings in the enclosure for the box connector. Position the connector flange and gasket inside the enclosure, and secure the assembly with screws and nuts.

  7. Verify grounding continuity

If the wireway is to be used for grounding, ensure that grounding continuity is maintained across all fittings and connections.
