Overview

The nVent F22LJ Junction Box is a Type 12, UL 508A-listed steel enclosure designed for industrial and commercial applications requiring secure component mounting and environmental protection. Constructed from 16-gauge drawn steel with no welded seams or sharp corners, this 2.50 x 2.50-inch junction box features a removable hinged cover with oil-tight quarter-turn slotted latches and a contoured Type 12 design. The lay-in hinged cover simplifies installation by allowing components to be positioned before securing the cover, reducing setup time and minimizing misalignment risks. Certified to UL 508A, cUL per CSA C22.2 No. 94, and compliant with NEMA Type 12 and IEC 60529 IP55 standards, the F22LJ provides robust protection against indoor contaminants, oil, dust, and water ingress. The oil-resistant gasket ensures a tight seal, while welded nuts allow for optional panel mounting. The gray powder-coated finish enhances corrosion resistance and provides a professional appearance suitable for exposed installations.

How to Install the Lay-In Wireway

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing and sealing a Lay-In Wireway, ensuring proper assembly and functionality.

Estimated time: 45m

Tools needed:

Screwdriver, Wire strippers, Drill

Supplies needed:

Mounting screws, Gaskets, Terminal connectors

  1. Assemble the wireway sections

Place a gasket between the flanges of the wireway sections and secure them using screws and nuts as shown in the assembly details.

  2. Seal the joints

After installing the wires, seal each joint between the sections using either the LSGQR fitting method or the 90° angle sealing plate method, ensuring that gaskets are visible and properly positioned.

  3. Install box entries

Make a cutout in the control enclosure for the wireway entry, position the box connector and gasket inside the enclosure, and install a sealing plate as described in the instructions.

  4. Adjust and anchor telescope fittings

Assemble the telescope fitting with the compression ring and gasket, insert it into the straight section, adjust to the desired length, and anchor it using screws or threaded rods as necessary.

  5. Calibrate and test

Once installed, verify all connections and ensure that the wireway is properly grounded if required, using a multimeter to check for continuity.
