The nVent ZonEx EXE Design Type 4X enclosure (SKU: EXE36248SS61) provides robust protection for electrical components in hazardous locations, specifically certified for ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU and IECEx Zone 1 and 2 increased safety (Ex e) applications. Constructed from durable 1.5mm thick Type 316L stainless steel with a 320-grain brushed finish, it offers superior corrosion resistance. The enclosure features a 2.0mm galvanized steel mounting plate and achieves IP 66 and Type 4, 4X, 12 protection ratings, ensuring defense against water and dust ingress. Integrated M6 brass internal/external bonding provisions and welded wall-mounting brackets facilitate easy installation. Dimensions are 36" x 24" x 8". It is certified for ATEX: Ex eb IIC Gb, Ex tb IIIC Db and IECEx: Ex eb IIC Gb, Ex tb IIIC Db. The operating temperature range is -40°C to +70°C with the standard polyurethane gasket, expandable to -55°C to +180°C with an optional silicone gasket. Note: This enclosure is designed for increased safety (Ex e) applications, not explosion-proof (Ex d).
