Overview

The nVent HOFFMAN EJB6 (SKU: EJB6) is an ATEX/IECEx certified aluminum junction box engineered for hazardous locations, specifically Zones 1, 2, 21, and 22. This enclosure measures 870x650x480mm, providing substantial internal volume for housing electrical components such as circuit breakers, transformers, or control systems. Constructed from a low-copper aluminum alloy, it offers excellent corrosion resistance, further enhanced by stainless steel hardware. The EJB6 features a high-temperature silicone gasket, ensuring robust protection with an IP66/IP67 rating against dust and water ingress. Its exterior is finished with a durable RAL 7035 epoxy coating. Certified to EN 60079 standards, this junction box is tested for gas (IIB) and dust (IIIC) environments, with temperature classifications up to T6. The enclosure is formed from 0.08” Type 5052 H-32 aluminum with continuously welded seams. It includes a continuously hinged cover with a 180° opening and quarter-turn latches for secure closure, requiring a tool for access. Models larger than 4”x4” include a removable 14-gauge galvanized inner panel, with tapped studs for mounting. Bonding and grounding studs are provided. nVent HOFFMAN offers custom drilling and threading services to meet specific project requirements.
