Grinding tool, Screwdriver, Wire strippers
Supplies needed:
Zinc-based antioxidant, Thread forming screws, Irreversible crimp connector
- Prepare the installation area
Locate the area on the rack or cabinet where the jumper will be attached. Remove all paint, oxidation, and debris from the surface using a grinding tool.
- Apply antioxidant
Coat the cleaned area around the holes with a generous amount of zinc-based antioxidant to ensure proper bonding.
- Attach the jumper
Secure the jumper's lug end to the equipment rack or cabinet using the provided thread forming screws. Ensure it is firmly attached.
- Clean excess material
Wipe off any excess antioxidant material from the installation area to prevent contamination.
- Prepare the jumper end
Strip 1 inch of insulation from the end of the jumper to prepare it for connection.
- Connect to TEBC
Attach the stripped end of the jumper to the Telecommunications Equipment Bonding Conductor (TEBC) using an appropriate irreversible crimp connector, such as DGT1.
