Supplies needed:
Thread forming screws, Zinc-based antioxidant
- Locate the mounting surface
Identify the appropriate surface on the rack or cabinet where the lay-in lug will be installed.
- Prepare the surface
Remove all paint from the contact surface to ensure a proper connection.
- Apply antioxidant
Coat the prepared surface with a generous amount of zinc-based antioxidant to prevent corrosion.
- Mount the lay-in lug
Secure the lay-in lug to the surface using thread forming screws. Ensure it is firmly attached.
- Prepare the conductor
Apply zinc-based antioxidant to the conductor location in the lug to ensure a good electrical connection.
- Insert and secure the ground conductor
Insert the ground conductor into the lay-in lug and secure it using a 3/16” hex key.
