Overview

The nVent Concept DIN3 Rail Kits (SKU: CDR3P16) provide a standardized mounting solution for DIN-compliant snap-on devices in 16-inch Concept Enclosures. Engineered from plated mild steel, these kits ensure corrosion resistance and long-term reliability in industrial environments. Each kit includes three DIN3 rails (35mm height) and mounting hardware for vertical or horizontal installation. Rails attach securely to rear collar studs or mounting channels, eliminating the need for additional hardware in most configurations. Compatible with DIN 1, DIN 3, and CENELEC standards, the kits support circuit breakers, relays, terminal blocks, and other modular components. Ideal for control panels, electrical enclosures, and automation systems where space optimization and modularity are critical. The 16-inch (406mm) fit ensures compatibility with Concept Enclosure models A or B = 16.00 in. (406 mm). Trusted by professionals in manufacturing, energy, and telecommunications for their durability and ease of installation.

How to Mount DIN Rails in an Enclosure

Instructions for mounting DIN rails within a Hoffman enclosure, either directly to studs or to mounting channels.

Estimated time: 30m

Tools needed:

Torque wrench

Supplies needed:

DIN rails, M8 flanged nuts, Channel nuts, Pan head screws, Mounting channels (if applicable)

  1. Determine Mounting Method

Decide whether to mount DIN rails directly to enclosure studs or to mounting channels. Mounting channels are sold separately.

  2. Mount DIN Rails to Enclosure Studs

If mounting directly to enclosure studs, align the slots in the DIN rails with the studs. Attach an M8 flanged nut to each stud and torque to 99 in–lbs (11 Nm).

  3. Prepare for Mounting to Channels

If mounting DIN rails to mounting channels, insert one channel nut for each DIN rail into each mounting channel.

  4. Attach Mounting Channels (if applicable)

If using mounting channels, attach them to the enclosure studs according to their separate installation instruction sheet (Ref instruction 64317001).

  5. Mount DIN Rails to Channels

Align the slots in the DIN rails with the channel nuts. Insert one pan head screw into each nut and torque to 50 in–lbs (5.6 Nm).
