How to Install the AST5403R Type 1 Splitter Trough
Instructions for installing and wiring the AST5403R Type 1 Splitter Trough.

Screwdriver, Wire strippers, Pliers

Mounting screws, Wire connectors
- Prepare for Installation
Ensure all internal and external electrical and mechanical clearances are checked to assure that all assembled equipment functions safely and properly. Failure to do so may result in electric shock.
- Mount the Splitter Trough
Mount the AST5403R in the desired location. Ensure it is securely fastened.
- Route Main Wire Feed
Route the main wire feed into the trough. If using the right side top knockout, rotate the splitter block closest to the wire feed 180 degrees and remount it in the top holes.
- Connect Main Lugs
Connect the main power wires to the main lugs. Refer to the nameplate or datasheet for specific wire range and ampacity information.
- Connect Branch Lugs
Connect the branch circuit wires to the branch lugs. Refer to the nameplate or datasheet for specific wire range and ampacity information.
- Verify Connections
Double-check all connections to ensure they are secure and correctly wired according to the system requirements. Verify that the right terminal block aligns with the right main wire feed; if not, reposition the block.
