Overview

The nVent Floorstand Disconnect Enclosure (SKU: A72X7324LPFTC) is a robust, Type 12-rated solution designed for industrial power distribution and control applications. Engineered by nVent, a global leader in electrical and thermal management solutions, this enclosure combines durability, functionality, and compliance with industry standards to deliver reliable performance in demanding environments. Constructed from high-grade steel and finished in a durable gray coating, the enclosure provides superior corrosion resistance and structural integrity, ensuring long-term protection for critical electrical components. This floorstand disconnect enclosure is specifically designed for applications requiring a NEMA Type 12 rating, which ensures protection against dust, dirt, and non-corrosive liquids—making it ideal for use in manufacturing plants, food processing facilities, pharmaceutical labs, and other industrial settings where environmental contaminants pose a risk to sensitive equipment. The enclosure measures 72.12 inches in height, 73.75 inches in width, and 24.12 inches in depth, providing ample internal space for housing disconnect switches, circuit breakers, relays, and other control devices. The two-pole (2P) configuration supports efficient power distribution while maintaining compliance with electrical safety standards. One of the standout features of the nVent Floorstand Disconnect Enclosure is its versatile mounting capability. The design allows for installation either on the centerpost or the right side of the enclosure, providing flexibility to accommodate various spatial constraints and operational requirements. Additionally, the floor stand design elevates the enclosure, offering increased height and clearance beneath the unit. This not only simplifies access for routine maintenance and cleaning but also enhances airflow around the enclosure, reducing the risk of overheating and extending the lifespan of internal components. Professionals in industrial electrical design and maintenance rely on nVent products for their unwavering commitment to quality, innovation, and compliance with global standards. The A72X7324LPFTC enclosure is no exception, featuring a Type 12 rating that meets or exceeds NEMA standards for protection against environmental hazards. Whether deployed in a factory automation system, a water treatment plant, or a commercial building’s electrical room, this enclosure ensures that critical power distribution components remain safe, accessible, and operational. Installation is straightforward thanks to the enclosure’s modular design and pre-drilled mounting points, which align with common industry practices. The gray steel construction not only provides mechanical strength but also resists chipping and fading, maintaining a professional appearance even in high-traffic industrial areas. For engineers and facility managers seeking a dependable, code-compliant solution for power distribution enclosures, the nVent Floorstand Disconnect Enclosure delivers unmatched performance, durability, and peace of mind.

How to Repaint a Hoffman Enclosure

Guide on preparing and repainting Hoffman enclosures with TGIC polyester powder coating.

Estimated time: 1h

Tools needed:

180 grit sandpaper, 220 or 240 grit sandpaper (optional), Solvent, Paint manufacturer's recommended tools

Supplies needed:

TGIC polyester powder coated Hoffman enclosure, Paint compatible with TGIC polyester powder coating, Primer (if recommended by paint manufacturer)

  1. Prepare the Surface

Thoroughly sand all enclosure surfaces with 180 grit sandpaper. If sanding marks are objectionable, finish sanding with 220 or 240 grit sandpaper. Wet wipe all surfaces with a solvent to remove any possible contaminants. Consult with your paint manufacturer for proper cure time and hardness prior to testing the paint for adhesion.

  2. Select Appropriate Paint

Choose a paint that exhibits good adhesion properties over polyester powder. Recommended types include two-component epoxies, some two-component polyurethanes, and alkyd baking enamels. If using alkyd finishes, do not bake at temperatures exceeding 150°F to avoid discoloration.

  3. Apply Paint

Apply two or three medium to light coats of paint. Allow two to three minutes flash off between coats. Allow paint to cure adequately according to the paint manufacturer's instructions.

  4. Test Adhesion

After the paint has cured adequately, test the paint for adhesion. Consult with your paint manufacturer for proper cure time and hardness prior to testing.

  5. Test Repainting Process

NOTICE: Always test the repainting process on an inconspicuous area prior to full application.
