Overview

The nVent **A727212USSLP** Two-Door Floorstand Enclosure** delivers robust protection for critical industrial systems requiring Type 12 compliance. Engineered with **304 stainless steel** and a **brushed finish**, this enclosure is built to withstand dust, dirt, oil, and water ingress while providing a durable, corrosion-resistant housing for sensitive electronics, controls, or automation components. Designed for applications demanding high ingress protection (IP54/IP65 equivalent) and robust structural integrity, the A727212USSLP is ideal for facilities where equipment longevity and operational reliability are non-negotiable. **Key Features & Benefits:** - **Three-Point Latching System:** Ensures a secure seal, preventing contaminants from compromising internal components. This design exceeds standard NEMA Type 12 requirements, offering enhanced protection against liquids and particulates in industrial settings. - **Stainless Steel Construction (304):** Resists corrosion, chemicals, and extreme temperatures, making it suitable for food processing, pharmaceutical, chemical, and outdoor applications where hygiene and durability are critical. - **Two-Door Design:** Facilitates easy access for maintenance, wiring, or component upgrades while maintaining a tight seal when closed. The 72" x 72" x 12" dimensions provide ample space for large control panels, PLCs, or distributed I/O systems. - **Industry-Leading Sealing:** The gasketed door interface and reinforced frame minimize the risk of moisture or particulate intrusion, reducing downtime and maintenance costs in harsh environments. - **Versatile Mounting Options:** Floorstand design allows for secure installation in control rooms, manufacturing floors, or outdoor enclosures, with optional mounting brackets for additional stability. **Typical Applications:** This enclosure is widely used in **automation, manufacturing, and process control industries**, where protecting sensitive electronics from environmental hazards is essential. Common applications include: - **Industrial Control Panels:** Housing PLCs, HMIs, and motor controllers in dusty or wet environments like steel mills, paper plants, or wastewater treatment facilities. - **Data Acquisition Systems:** Safeguarding sensors, data loggers, and communication devices in outdoor or high-vibration settings. - **Power Distribution:** Enclosing variable frequency drives (VFDs), circuit breakers, or UPS systems in facilities requiring Type 12 compliance. - **Renewable Energy:** Protecting inverters, battery management systems, or monitoring equipment in solar or wind power installations. - **Food & Beverage Processing:** Meeting hygiene standards with corrosion-resistant materials and easy-to-clean surfaces. **Why Choose nVent?** As a trusted leader in thermal management and electrical protection solutions, nVent (formerly part of Pentair Thermal Management) brings decades of expertise to industrial enclosure design. How to Install the A727212USSLP Enclosure

Instructions for mounting and adjusting the A727212USSLP enclosure, including door and panel installation.

Estimated time: 1h

Tools needed:

Screwdriver, Punch, Vibrating hammer (electric or air powered)

Supplies needed:

Fasteners, Metal shims, Hinge pin

  1. Prepare for Mounting

Identify whether the enclosure is wall-mounted or floor-mounted. Wall-mounted enclosures have internal mounting means or external feet. Floor-mounted enclosures have floor stands with mounting plates. Ensure you have the proper fasteners for your chosen mounting method.

  2. Mount the Enclosure

Secure the enclosure to the wall or floor using the appropriate fasteners in all mounting holes. For floor-mounted enclosures, ensure the floor is level or use shims under the enclosure corners as needed. For wall-mounted enclosures, ensure the mounting surface is flat to prevent door issues.

  3. Adjust Door Closing (if necessary)

If the door does not open and close properly, or if it sags due to heavy equipment, adjust as follows: For single-door enclosures, place metal shims behind the bottom mounting foot closest to the hinge if the top of the door strikes the body opening lip. For two-door enclosures, place metal shims under the corners if the floor is not level, ensuring the doors meet evenly. Bolt the enclosure in place with doors closed before installing shims.

  4. Install the Interior Panel

When installing the interior panel, you may need to slightly bend mounting studs to align the panel. Position the panel on the studs that line up, then use a screwdriver inserted through the panel holes to pry the remaining studs into place.

  5. Remove or Invert Print Pocket

The print pocket on the door can be inverted or removed entirely as needed.

  6. Install Hubs and Devices

Use agency Type rated hubs or devices of equal rating to the enclosure. Ensure hole openings and installation follow manufacturer instructions. Verify adequate hole-to-hole spacing for tightening and that installation does not interfere with the enclosure's gasket or edges. Conduit connections should be on the top, bottom, and sides.
