How to Install the A3AXFN Compact Cooling Fan

Installation guide for mounting and wiring the A3AXFN compact cooling fan. Ensure proper airflow and electrical connections for safe operation.

Estimated time: 30m

Tools needed:

Screwdriver, Wire strippers, Multimeter

Supplies needed:

Mounting screws, Nuts, Lockwashers, Ground wire, Finger guard

  1. Verify Product Suitability

Check the ratings on the fan label to ensure the product is suitable for your application. Refer to the datasheet for specific voltage, frequency, and phase requirements as these may vary by model.

  2. Determine Mounting Location and Airflow Direction

Select a mounting location and establish the desired airflow direction through the fan. Arrows on the fan housing indicate airflow direction and blade rotation.

  3. Assemble Finger Guard

Assemble the provided finger guard to either side of the fan, preferably on the side that could be reached accidentally. Additional finger guards may be available.

  4. Mount the Fan

Secure the fan in the desired position using the supplied screws, nuts, and lockwashers. Ensure the fan is firmly attached.

  5. Wire the Fan

Disconnect power supply before wiring. Connect the two fan leadwires to the appropriate voltage power source according to applicable local codes and ordinances. Ensure exposed wires do not contact the fan housing.

  6. Ground the Fan Housing

Ground the fan housing using a lead sized per N.E.C. standards. Use the provided green screw to connect the separate ground wire to the fan housing slot. Ensure the grounding screw does not protrude through the fan housing.

  7. Strain Relief Fan Leadwires

Apply strain relief to all fan leadwires using tension clips to prevent damage.
