Overview

The Woodhead Safeway® Connector (SKU: 27T82) is a 4-pole, 5-wire NEMA L22-20 locking blade connector designed for 3-phase, 480V industrial power applications. This connector features a Super-Safeway™ rubber housing (NEo-TEX Paracril OZO) for superior resistance to abrasion, chemicals, and temperature extremes (-40°C to 75°C continuous). The nickel-plated brass plug blades and contacts ensure low-resistance electrical connections with a maximum 30°C temperature rise at full rated current. The floating blade construction provides self-alignment, reducing wear and heat generation during operation. Wire screw terminals are tri-drive compatible (straight, Phillips, square) and include a transparent wiring guide to verify proper strand placement. A captive stainless steel speed screw and two-piece cord-clamp strain relief with tri-drive screws secure cables firmly. UL File No. E10176 and CSA File No. LR6837 certified. Ideal for industrial machinery, generators, construction tools, welding equipment, and motor control centers where secure, vibration-resistant power connections are critical.
