How to Install the VeriSafe Absence of Voltage Tester (AVT)
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing and configuring the VeriSafe Absence of Voltage Tester to ensure safe operation in electrical systems.
Estimated time: 1h
Tools needed:
Screwdriver, Wire strippers, Multimeter
Supplies needed:
Mounting screws, Terminal connectors, AVT System Cable
- De-energize the circuit
Ensure that the power to the circuit is completely turned off and follow lockout/tagout procedures to prevent accidental energization.
- Mount the Isolation Module
Secure the Isolation Module to the DIN rail or surface using screws. Ensure it is level and properly grounded to the protective conductor terminal.
- Install the Indicator Module
Use a standard 30 mm knockout to mount the Indicator Module. Ensure the notch is positioned at the top as specified.
- Connect sensor leads
Terminate the sensor leads to the corresponding circuit conductors. Ensure that leads of the same color are connected to the same conductor and avoid any mechanical connections between leads.
- Connect the AVT System Cable
Use the included AVT System Cable to connect the Isolation Module to the Indicator Module. Do not use standard Ethernet cables.
- Verify connections
Use a multimeter to check the connectivity of the sensor leads to ensure they are properly terminated and in contact with the conductors.
- Perform a functionality test
Initiate the absence of voltage test by pressing the button on the Indicator Module. Confirm that the green Absence of Voltage Indicator illuminates, indicating proper installation.
- Label the installation
Mark the test location on the yellow Instruction Label and apply it to the outside of the enclosure near the Indicator Module.
