How to Install the VeriSafe Access Control Kit (VS-ACK-CPWR)

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing and configuring the VeriSafe Access Control Kit to ensure safe access to electrical enclosures.

Estimated time: 45m

Tools needed:

Screwdriver, Wire strippers, Multimeter

Supplies needed:

Mounting screws, Terminal connectors, Two-sided tape

  1. Prepare the installation site

Measure 5-1/8 inches from the surface where the cabinet door seats to locate the position for the knockout hole. Use a Double 'D' knockout punch to create the hole.

  2. Install the Cam Latch

Insert the Cam Latch into the knockout hole, ensuring that the Sealing Washer is properly seated between the panel wall and the Cam Latch.

  3. Secure the Enclosure Bracket

Install the Enclosure Bracket onto the Cam Latch and hand tighten the Mounting Nut. Ensure the bracket is level and tighten the Mounting Nut to a maximum of 88 IN*LB (10 N*m).

  4. Attach the Rotary Latch

Install the Rotary Latch to the Latch Bracket using the supplied ¼”-20 Bolts (2) and secure it to the Enclosure Bracket with the supplied #10-32 Bolts (4).

  5. Install the Striker

Place the supplied Two-Sided tape onto the back side of the Striker and install it onto the Rotary Latch. Close the cabinet door to position the Striker correctly.

  6. Mount the Striker

Mark the mounting locations for the Striker on the cabinet door, then remove the Striker and tape. Mount the Striker using proper NEMA rated mounting hardware.

  7. Connect the Wire Harness

For the Control Power option, connect the wires of the Wire Harness to the VeriSafe Absence of Voltage Tester (AVT) and the desired power source according to the wiring schematic.

  8. Verify installation

Close the cabinet door and ensure that the Access Control Kit is functioning properly. Adjust the Striker or Latch Bracket if necessary.

  9. Commission the system

Energize the system and verify that the red Voltage Presence Indicators are illuminated. Conduct the absence of voltage test using the AVT.
