How to Install Vertical and Horizontal Blanking Panels for S6VBPN Network Cabinets
Step-by-step guide to installing vertical and horizontal blanking panels, flap seals, and rubber seals in S6VBPN network cabinets.
Estimated time: 45m
Tools needed:
T25 Torx bit, Utility Knife, 8mm wrench
Supplies needed:
Flap Seals, M5 Torx Screws, Cable Protection Bezels, D-shaped Rubber Seal, Adhesive Seal, 3/8” Bulb Seals, Bottom Seal Brackets, 25mm x 50mm Foam Seals, 13mm x 25mm Foam Seals, Between Cabinet Bracket, Seal Cover, M5 x 12mm Torx Screw, Blanking Foam Seal
- Install Upper Vertical Blanking Panels
Install Flap Seals on the top edges of the Upper Blanking Panels. Then, attach the Left-side and Right-side Upper Blanking Panels to the backside of the front adjustable Equipment Rails using M5 Torx Screws. Ensure the Left-side panel with the diamond cutout is correctly oriented.
- Install Lower Vertical Blanking Panels
Attach the Left-side and Right-side Lower Blanking Panels to the backside of the front adjustable Equipment Rails using M5 Torx Screws. Ensure that the Lower Panels overlap the Upper Panels.
- Install Horizontal Blanking Panels
Install [2] Flap Seal sections onto the edges of the Top and Bottom Horizontal Blanking Panels. Insert [3] M5 Torx Screws into each Horizontal Blanking Panel. Align the front face of the Horizontal Blanking Panel with the Equipment Rails and install to the top front to back beams using [2] M5 torx screws. Attach D-shaped Rubber Seal to the Horizontal Blanking Panel. Ensure that Flap Seals are positioned tight against the top of the cabinet.
- Install Top Blanking Panel (if applicable)
For 800mm wide cabinets, adjust the width of the Top Blanking Panel using an 8mm wrench. Apply Adhesive Seal to the top edge of the Top Blanking Panel, cutting to length for 600mm and 700mm wide cabinets. Loosen [3] screws on the front face of the Horizontal Blanking Panel to attach the Top Blanking Panel.
- Install Side and Floor Seals
Attach 3/8” Bulb Seals to the vertical edges of the Blanking Panels by sliding the Seal channel over the Blanking Panel flange, trimming the Seal length if necessary. For floor seals, align the front face of the Horizontal Blanking Panel with the Equipment Rails and install to the lower front to back beams using [2] M5 Torx screws. Install [2] Bottom Seal Brackets (Left Bracket is noted by diamond cutout) using [2] M5 Torx Screws. Attach D-shaped Rubber Seal to the Horizontal Blanking Panel. Attach 25mm x 50mm Foam Seals to the bottoms of the Horizontal Blanking Panel and [2] Bottom Seal Brackets. Attach 13mm x 25mm Foam Seals to the outer edge of the [2] Bottom Seal Brackets.
- Install Cabinet to Cabinet Seal
Align the Between Cabinet Bracket so its front face overlaps the front face of the Blanking panels. While holding the Between Cabinet Bracket, attach the Seal Cover to the Bracket using an M5 Torx Screw. Attach a 25mm x 50mm Foam Seal to the bottom of the Seal Cover. Seal the air gap between the top cap and Blanking Panels with Blanking Foam Seal.
