How to Install the R4PRCN96 Rack
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for assembling and installing the R4PRCN96 rack, ensuring a secure and stable setup for your equipment.
Estimated time: 1h
Tools needed:
Screwdriver, Wrench, Wire strippers, Multimeter
Supplies needed:
3/8" bolts, Paint piercing washers, Cage nuts, Anti-oxidizing gel
- Prepare the Side Assembly
Lay one side assembly on the floor or sturdy saw horses. Apply anti-oxidizing gel to painted surfaces that the 3/8" paint piercing washers will contact. Install base angles and top brackets using 3/8" bolts and paint piercing washers, but do not tighten yet.
- Assemble the Second Side
Place the remaining side assembly as shown in the documentation. Apply anti-oxidizing gel to the painted surfaces again and assemble it to the base angles using 3/8" bolts and paint piercing washers. Do not tighten the bolts yet.
- Secure the Rack Structure
Hinge the side assembly upwards to align with the top brackets. Install the remaining 3/8" bolts and paint piercing washers in the top brackets. Stand the rack upright and verify that the #12-24 tapped holes or cage nuts are EIA spaced at 18.31". Square the rack vertically and horizontally, ensuring the differences in measurements are no greater than 1/8". Finally, tighten all bolts to at least 14 ft-lbs.
- Ground the Rack
Attach a grounding lug to the designated locations on the top and bottom rails of the side channel assembly. Ensure that the grounding connection is secure and remove any masking before installation.
- Mount the Rack
Use the provided location guide to mount the rack to the floor. Ensure that floor mounting bolts are used in all applications to provide maximum rigidity and load-bearing capacity.
- Install Equipment
Install the equipment in the rack starting from the lowest possible RU for stability. Secure the equipment using the provided mounting hardware, tightening the bottom, top, and middle screws before installing the remaining screws.
