How to Install the Rack Floor Attachment Kit (RFAKIT)

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for securely mounting Panduit's Rack Floor Attachment Kit to a concrete floor or raised floor panel.

Estimated time: 1h

Tools needed:

Drill with 1/2" Dia. Masonry Bit, Hammer

Supplies needed:

1/2-13 Concrete Stud Anchors, 1/2" Flat Washers, 1/2-13 Hex Nuts, Lockwashers, Coupler Nuts, 1/2" x 36" Threaded Rod

  1. Mark drilling locations

With the rack or cabinet in place, mark the areas on the concrete floor or raised floor panel where the holes will be drilled.

  2. Drill holes

Temporarily remove the rack or cabinet and drill four holes into the concrete floor using a 1/2" dia. masonry drill bit to a depth of 2 1/2"-2 3/4". If using a raised floor panel, drill four 5/8" holes where the rack or cabinet will rest.

  3. Insert concrete anchors

Tap the 1/2-13 X 3 3/4" Long Concrete Stud Anchors into all four holes using a hammer. Ensure they are embedded to a depth of 2 1/4".

  4. Secure the anchors

Realign the rack or cabinet over the anchors and secure it to the floor using the 1/2" Flat Washers and 1/2-13 Hex Nuts.

  5. Install threaded rods

Thread the 1/2-13 Coupler Nuts 7/8" onto the Stud Anchors. Then, thread the 1/2" x 36" Threaded Rods into the Coupler Nuts until they touch the top of the Stud Anchors.

  6. Position and secure the raised floor panel

Position a Lockwasher and Hex Nut on each threaded rod so that they are level with the bottom of the raised floor panel. Place the raised floor panel onto the Lockwashers and Hex Nuts.

  7. Final tightening

Tighten the rack or cabinet to the raised floor panel using the 1/2" Flat Washers, Lockwashers, and 1/2-13 Hex Nuts. Cut any excess threaded rod after the hardware is installed.
