Screwdriver, Drill, Level, Measuring tape, Torque wrench
Supplies needed:
3/8” lag screws and washers, M5 thread forming screws and lockwashers, M4 thread forming screws, #12-24 screws, #10-32 screws and lockwashers
- Prepare the Cabinet
Remove the door and side panels from the cabinet for easier handling. Ensure the rear latches are closed.
- Mount the Cabinet
Mount the cabinet to wall studs in four locations using four (4) 3/8” lag screws and washers (not provided). Ensure screws penetrate wood studs at least 2 7/8” and protrude 3/8” from the wall. Once the cabinet is in place, carefully swing it away from the wall and securely tighten the hardware. Re-install the door and side panels. The door swing direction can be changed by rotating the door 180° and ensuring the plastic spacer is at the bottom of the door hinge.
- Reverse Rear Hinge Direction (Optional)
To reverse the rear hinge direction, open the cabinet and remove the latch from the rear lock. Remove the rear lock and the lock hole grommet on the opposite side. Close the cabinet and remove decorative covers on hinges. Remove the M5 thread forming screws, lockwashers, and flange nuts from the hinges, and the M4 screws from the latches. Re-install these components on the opposite side of the cabinet. Torque screws to 42.5 in-lb ± 3.5 in-lb. Open the cabinet and re-install the lock and grommet on the opposite sides. Re-assemble the lock latch, ensuring it locks in the downward rotation.
- Adjust Mounting Rail Depth (Optional)
To adjust the depth of the mounting rail, remove the M6 thread forming screws and lockwashers, move the rail to the desired position, and re-install the mounting hardware.
- Route Cables
Route cables with adequate slack to prevent damage. Secure cables using TAK-TY ties at points 1, 2, 3, or 4 as indicated in the documentation, leading to the desired patch panel.
- Install Optional Accessories (if applicable)
Install optional accessories such as fan kits, horizontal slack managers, or bend radius posts according to their specific instructions, using the provided hardware. For fan kits, use (4) #10-32 screws and lockwashers. For horizontal slack managers and bend radius posts, use the appropriate #12-24 screws.
- Install Combination Locks (Optional)
Remove existing locks and save cams. Insert the spacer ring over the combination lock cylinder. Install the combination lock onto the cabinet and tighten the cylinder nut. Remove the retaining screw, lock washer, flat washer, and direction setting washer. Pull the lock head from the cylinder and rotate to the desired direction. Reinstall the parts in the following order: Direction Setting Washer, Cam, Flat Washer, Lock Washer, and Retaining Screw. Test lock rotation and adjust cam angle if necessary. To change the combination, set the lock to the current combination, push the reset button, scroll to the new combination, and release the button.
