How to Install the Panduit FMPS Transmitter Chassis and Power Supply
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for the proper installation and grounding of the Panduit FMPS Transmitter Chassis and its Power Supply Module, ensuring safe and reliable operation within a rack or cabinet.

#2 Phillips screwdriver, #3 Phillips screwdriver, Slotted screwdriver, Wire stripper, Wrenches, Pliers, Wire cutters, Compression crimp tools, Multimeter, Label maker
Supplies needed:
Field wiring, Copper patch wire, 6 AWG Receiver grounding wire, Alternative cabinet mounting screws (if not using rack screws)
- Verify Rack Grounding
Before proceeding with installation, verify that the rack has appropriate grounding to earth ground. Proper grounding is critical for Panduit FMPS system operation and safety.
- Ground the Transmitter Chassis
Securely ground the Panduit FMPS Transmitter Chassis to the rack using the grounding screw (Panduit P/N RGTBSG-C) provided. This ensures proper electrical protection and functionality of the chassis.
- Install Side Brackets for Mounting
Attach the two side brackets to the Transmitter Chassis. For a 2-post rack, install brackets at position B (recommended) or C, pushing them all the way back. For a 4-post rack or cabinet flush mount, install brackets in position A. Ensure brackets are firmly attached using the provided screws.
- Mount the Transmitter Chassis to the Rack
Mount the Transmitter Chassis to the rack using the three rack mounting screws (Panduit P/N S1224-C) and the grounding screw provided. For 4-post racks or cabinets, use a strain relief bar (e.g., Panduit P/N SRB19D7BL) or shelf (e.g., Panduit P/N SRM19FM2) to support the back of the chassis if flush mounting.
- Install Power Supply Module
Insert the Power Supply Module into an empty slot in the back of the Panduit FMPS Transmitter Chassis. Slide it forward until it clicks, then gently pull the handle to verify the latches are engaged. If installing additional modules, first remove the corresponding Power Supply blanking panel.
- Connect Input Power to Power Supply
Connect the C-19 end of the provided C-19 to C-20 power cord to the Power Supply Module. Ensure PDU outputs or power cords are not supplying power at this stage. Power will be applied at the end of the complete hardware installation.
