This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing and configuring the Panduit G5 Power Distribution Unit (PDU) in a data center rack.

Phillips screwdriver, Torx screwdriver, Multimeter
Supplies needed:
Mounting screws, Cage nuts, Ground bonding cable
- Mount the PDU
Align and install the mounting buttons with the screw holes on the face of the PDU. Insert the mounting buttons into the keyhole slots on the PDU mounting bracket in the rack to secure the PDU.
- Connect the Ground Bonding Cable
Locate the external ground bonding point on the chassis of the PDU. Use a ground bonding cable to connect the PDU to a known earthed reference terminal in the building.
- Connect the PDU to Power Source
Turn the feed circuit breaker Off. Connect the PDU to an appropriately rated branch circuit and ensure all circuit breakers on the PDU are set to On. Turn the feed circuit breaker On to power up the PDU.
- Configure the PDU
Access the Web interface of the PDU. Navigate to the System Management page and select Set Input Cord under actions. Choose the correct cord type and select Save to reset the PDU.
