- Mount the PDU in the Rack
Install the appropriate mounting hardware for your PDU form factor. For vertical PDUs, align and install the mounting buttons with the screw holes on the PDU, then insert the buttons into the keyhole slots on the PDU mounting bracket in the rack. For 1U or 2U PDUs, install cage nuts at the desired U location and screw the mounting bracket ears into the RETMA rail surface. Ensure the PDU is securely attached.
- Ground the PDU
WARNING: High leakage current exists. Ensure a reliable grounded (earthed) connection. Connect a ground bonding cable to the external ground bonding point on the PDU chassis using the provided screw and star washer. Bond the PDU to a grounding strip or grounding bus bar in the rack, or to a known earthed reference terminal in the building, following all local and national codes.
- Connect the PDU to a Power Source
WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, ensure all circuit breakers are in the off position before connecting input power. Turn the feed circuit breaker Off at the branch circuit. Verify that all circuit breakers on the PDU are set to On. Connect the PDU's input power cord to an appropriately rated, grounded (earthed) branch circuit electrical outlet. Turn the feed circuit breaker On. Observe the OLED screen (if present) for status and outlet lights.

If installing a Universal Input PDU, configure its input type via the Web interface. Navigate to the System Management page under settings. Select 'Set Input Cord' under actions.
