How to Install the NK688MYL-Q NetKey Keystone Cabling System Jack Module

Step-by-step guide for installing the NK688MYL-Q NetKey Category 5e, 6 & 6A Jack Modules.

Estimated time: 15m

Tools needed:

Punch down tool (PDT110), Wire strippers, Cable cutter

Supplies needed:

NK688MYL-Q NetKey Jack Module, Category 5e, 6, or 6A cable, Retention cap

  1. Prepare the Cable

Strip the outer jacket of the cable to expose the inner conductors. Do not untwist the pairs more than 1/8" from the IDC tower. Trim the pair separator and/or filler if present.

  2. Terminate Conductors

Orient the jack module as shown in the diagram. Insert the conductors into the appropriate slots on the IDC towers according to the T568A or T568B wiring scheme. Use the punch down tool (PDT110) to firmly seat each conductor into its IDC tower.

  3. Secure the Jack Module

Once all conductors are terminated, attach the retention cap to the back of the jack module to secure the wires. Ensure the cap is firmly in place.

  4. Mount the Jack Module

Insert the installed jack module into the desired keystone opening. Ensure it clicks into place. The label should be oriented correctly.
