How to Install the NetKey Keystone Style Jack Module (NK5E88MIWY)
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing and terminating the NetKey Keystone Style Jack Module for optimal network performance.
Estimated time: 30m
Tools needed:
Screwdriver, Wire strippers, Wire snipping tool, Snap Tool or Slip Lock Pliers
Supplies needed:
Category 5E twisted pair cable, Termination caps, Mounting screws
- Prepare the cable
Remove 3 inches (76.2mm) of the cable jacket and untwist the pairs of wires. Ensure the conductors are straightened and arranged in the proper color sequence.
- Insert conductors into the cap
Cut the conductors at an angle and insert them into the termination cap. Ensure that the outer jacket is inside the cap and bend the conductors up at a 90-degree angle.
- Secure the cap
Snap the cap squarely onto the housing until it clicks. Use the Snap Tool or Slip Lock Pliers to apply pressure until the cap is flush with the housing.
- Trim excess conductors
Using the wire snipping tool, trim the conductors flush with the cap to ensure a clean termination.
- Verify installation
Check that the cap is securely attached and that the conductors are properly terminated according to the T568A or T568B wiring standards.
