This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing the MLT Locking Strap Cable Cleat, ensuring secure cable management on ladder rung systems.

Screwdriver, Scissors or shears, PBTMT Installation Tool
Supplies needed:
Cushion sleeve, MLT Strap Cleat, Mounting screws, Retainer clips, Bolts, Nuts
- Prepare the cushion sleeve
Cut the cushion sleeve to a suitable length to wrap around the perimeter of the cables and bracket. Ensure there is some overlap when fully wrapped.
- Mount the bracket
Align and insert the channel nut through the bottom opening of the ladder rung. Position the bracket assembly perpendicular to the ladder rung and thread the channel nut until resistance is felt. Torque the bolt to a recommended 75 lbs∙in [8.5 N∙m].
- Wrap the cushion sleeve
Wrap the cushion sleeve around the cables and bracket. While keeping the cushion sleeve in position, encircle the cable bundle with the MLT Strap Cleat.
- Insert the strap cleat
Insert the tail of the MLT Strap Cleat into the cleat head, positioning the head near the top of the cable bundle. Ensure the tail end is pointing toward you and pull the tail until taut.
- Double loop the strap
Repeat the previous step, looping the tail additionally to create a double loop. Ensure the MLT Strap Cleats are double looped for proper functionality.
- Tension the strap
Set the PBTMT tool tension to match the MLT Strap Cleat being used. Feed the MLT Strap Cleat’s tail into the nose and mandrel slots of the tool.
- Activate the PBTMT tool
Press and hold the trigger on the PBTMT tool until it automatically tensions the MLT Strap Cleat and cuts off the excess tail, leaving a flush finish.
