Supplies needed:
LCD1-12H-E copper compression connector, Copper cable
- Select Correct Connector and Tooling
Choose a LCD1-12H-E connector marked for the wire size and material. Ensure you have the correct crimping tool and die set specified for the chosen connector and wire size. Never use a copper connector on aluminum wire.
- Prepare the Wire
Strip the wire insulation to the approximate length specified in the tool chart for your chosen connector. Be careful not to nick or ring the conductor strands. Clean the wire thoroughly.
- Insert Wire into Connector
Insert the stripped end of the wire into the LCD1-12H-E connector until the wire stops.
- Crimp the Connector
Insert the connector with the wire into the appropriate die pocket on the crimping tool. Crimp the connector between the color bands or knurl markings as indicated. Refer to the tool chart for the required number of compressions.
- Inspect the Crimp
After crimping, carefully inspect the connection for any sharp edges, flash, or burrs. Remove any imperfections if present.
