Instructions for installing the LAM2LB1000-12-3 aluminum mechanical connector, including wire preparation and mounting.

Tools needed:
Wire brush, Abrasive cloth, Wrench
Supplies needed:
Joint compound CMP-100, Aluminum wire, Flat washer (plated, larger than compression washer)
- Prepare the Mounting Surface
If the mounting surface is not plated, wire brush it. Coat the mounting surface with joint compound CMP-100.
- Prepare the Wire
Strip the wire immediately prior to installation. Do not score the strands. Clean the wire with a wire brush or abrasive cloth. If using aluminum wire, immediately coat it with joint compound CMP-100.
- Assemble the Connector
Place the compression washer with the cup side down. Ensure the flat washer (plated and larger than the compression washer) is placed on top of the compression washer. Verify the wire size is within the range stamped on the connector.
- Tighten the Nut
Tighten the nut until the compression washer is flat. Refer to the torque chart for specific tightening torque specifications, as these vary by model.
