Instructions for installing the GPWC2/0-S-1 Grounding Pipe Clamp to ensure a secure electrical connection.

3/4" wrench, Wire strippers
Supplies needed:
Ground wire, GPWC clamp
- Prepare the pipe and wire
Clean the pipe to ensure an optimal connection. Measure and cut the ground wire, approximately 15 inches plus 7.2 times the actual outer pipe diameter. Wrap the bare ground wire around the pipe for two full revolutions (720 degrees), leaving extra length to fit through the clamp.
- Position and attach the clamp
Place the GPWC clamp over both wires on the pipe. If the U-bolts do not fully pass through the bottom clamp, you may need to increase the wire length and start clamping further from the pipe. Open the U-bolts as far as possible to allow the clamp to be moved closer to the pipe.
- Tighten the U-bolts
Tighten the smaller U-bolt first (the one further from the pipe) to prevent wire slippage. Then, tighten the larger U-bolt. Check the torque alternately on each nut until the proper torque is reached on both. The clamp should be firmly secured to the pipe without movement. If not secure, loosen both bolts fully, reposition the clamp as close to the pipe as possible, and re-torque.
- Verify security
Ensure that the correct torque has been reached and that the wire and clamp are firmly secure. There should be no gap between the wires at the smaller U-bolt. Repeat the tightening process if necessary until the correct torque is achieved and the clamp is secure.
