Overview

The Panduit FXTRP8NUGSNF065 is a high-density OM3 12-fiber round harness cable assembly designed for robust data center and enterprise network deployments. This assembly features a plenum (OFNP) rated jacket, ensuring compliance with stringent fire safety codes for installation in air-handling spaces. The harness terminates with a PanMPO Male connector on one end, providing a high-density, multi-fiber connection point, and transitions to staggered LC Uniboot connectors on the other. This staggered pair configuration is optimized for specific switch port arrangements, allowing for a shorter cable run on one side, which can improve cable management and airflow within racks. The LC Uniboot connectors offer a compact, reversible polarity design, simplifying installation and reducing the need for specialized tools. This assembly is built with standard insertion loss (Std IL) specifications, ensuring reliable signal transmission for 10 Gigabit Ethernet and other high-speed applications over OM3 multimode fiber. Manufactured by Panduit in the USA, the FXTRP8NUGSNF065 (SKU: FXTRP8NUGSNF065) is engineered for performance and reliability in demanding network environments. Its 12-fiber count supports high-bandwidth requirements, making it suitable for backbone connections, server aggregation, and high-density patching. The OFNP rating is critical for installations requiring adherence to building codes for plenum spaces, such as in commercial offices, data centers, and telecommunications rooms. The PanMPO connector is a key component for high-density fiber optic infrastructure, enabling efficient use of rack space and simplified fiber management. The LC Uniboot design further enhances density and ease of use by integrating the duplex connection into a single, smaller connector housing with a push-pull tab for easy insertion and removal. This specific configuration, PanMPO Male to LC Uniboot Staggered Pair 1 shortest, is ideal for applications where port density and efficient cable routing are paramount. The standard insertion loss ensures that signal degradation is minimized, supporting the performance requirements of modern high-speed networks.

How to Install the PanMPO Connector

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing and configuring the PanMPO Connector, ensuring proper connection and functionality.

Estimated time: 30m

Tools needed:

Panduit pin retraction tool, Screwdriver

Supplies needed:

Heat shrink, Electrical tape, Expandable sleeve

  1. Remove the outer housing

Squeeze both sides of the outer housing at the back end evenly until you hear an audible click. Pull the outer housing off the connector.

  2. Change the polarity

Rotate the outer housing 180° so the arc cut-out is on the opposite side. Re-install the outer housing until you hear a faint audible click.

  3. Prepare the connectors

Close the loop on the nylon ripcord and pull it through the slot in the heat shrink towards the front of the assembly. Remove the heat shrink and unwrap any electrical tape if present.

  4. Install the expandable sleeve

Slide the expandable sleeve over the split loom tube containing the connectors. Carefully remove the split loom tube.
