- Choose Installation Site
Select a level and horizontal installation site for the CP-881, ensuring it meets the operating temperature range of 59°F to 95°F (15°C to 35°C) and is free from dampness, dust, direct sunlight, high/low temperatures, heavy vibrations, and jolts. Ensure adequate ventilation.
- Prepare the Ferrule Dispenser
Open the ferrule dispenser, tear off the strap, and pull out approximately 8 inches (20 cm) of the ferrule band.
- Prepare and Fit the Ferrule Feeder
Select the ferrule feeder with the proper cross-section (matching the ferrule color code) from the tool kit. Insert ferrules into the guide until the stop pin is reached. Pull the pin upwards, move the ferrules to the mark, and release the pin, ensuring it clicks into place. Slide back the cover of the CP-881 and insert the ferrule feeder sideways onto the bolts until it clicks into place. Verify the tool insert is not yet installed.
- Mount the Dispenser and Tool Insert
Mount the ferrule dispenser onto its holder, ensuring it clicks into place. Select the tool insert with the proper cross-section (matching the color code) from the tool kit. Ensure the adjustment screw is turned fully counter-clockwise for standard operation. Mount the tool insert sideways and secure it with the bolt until it stops.
- Connect Power and Prepare for Operation
Place the dispenser in operation mode and close the CP-881 cover, ensuring the ferrule band is fed correctly. Connect the main cable to the CP-881 and the main power supply using appropriate connectors. The CP-881 is now ready for operation.
- Prepare Cable for Crimping
Ensure the cable is aligned as straight as possible, with a maximum bend of 0.08” – 0.10” (2-3mm) over a length of 2.5” (60mm). Cut the cable cleanly and straight. Avoid squashed cuts or cuts where individual wires protrude.
- Start and Operate the CP-881
Verify the cover is closed. Turn the main switch ON (Position I). The counter should display 0. Insert the prepared cable straight into the funnel guide until it stops. The CP-881 will automatically strip and crimp. Once the process is complete, pull the cable out straight. If needed, reset the counter to 0 using the reset button.
- Stop Operation and Perform Daily Maintenance
If required, read the counter. Turn the main switch OFF (Position O) and disconnect the main cable. Slide back the cover, remove any insulation scraps from inside the CP-881, and empty the container. Close the cover and reconnect the main cable. No lubrication is required.
