This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing the FLEX-RAIL04PN patch panel, including mounting, wiring, and initial setup.

Screwdriver, Wire strippers, Multimeter
Supplies needed:
Mounting screws, Terminal connectors
- Mount the patch panel
Secure the patch panel to the rack using a minimum of four screws. If RU space is available above, partially install two screws on each side to assist in mounting.
- Connect trunk cabling
Attach the trunk cabling to the rear port of the cassette or FAP. Ensure the polarity label is oriented correctly before installation.
- Install cassettes
Insert cassettes into the patch panel starting from the bottom right slot. Push forward until they snap into place, populating from right to left.
- Connect MPO trunk cables
From the rear of the patch panel, insert the MPO connector diagonally into the FAP. Push until the boot passes the rear post, then lift the cable over the post to secure it.
- Dress and secure cables
Use Tak-Ty to secure the cables coming out of the installed modules to the designated tie-down points on the patch panel.
- Verify connections
Use a multimeter to check the integrity of the connections and ensure all cables are properly connected and functioning.
