How to Install the FDPPSIG Fiber Enclosure

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing and configuring the FDPPSIG fiber enclosure on a DIN rail.

Estimated time: 45m

Tools needed:

Screwdriver, Wire strippers, Multimeter

Supplies needed:

Mounting screws, Terminal connectors, Tak-Ty

  1. Mount the enclosure

Secure the base of the FDPPSIG enclosure to the DIN rail using the integrated clips. Ensure the enclosure is level and firmly attached.

  2. Prepare the cable

Strip the outer cable jacket to 22 inches ± 1/2 inch to allow for connector termination and slack. Align the cable jacket cut end with the edge of the cord grip ± 1/2 inch.

  3. Secure the cord grip

Loosely attach the dome nut to the cord grip without tightening. Hand tighten the nut to secure the cord grip once the cable is positioned correctly.

  4. Terminate the fibers

Cut buffered fibers or jacketed fibers to 14 inches ± 1/2 inch for termination. Ensure the minimum loop bend radius is 2.5 inches.

  5. Secure the aramid yarn

Trim the aramid yarn to 3 inches and wrap it at least one full loop clockwise around the screw to secure it.

  6. Torque the screws

    Use #6-32 x 3/8 inch screws and torque them to 5 - 8 lb-in to ensure a secure connection.
