This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing the FlexCore 4RU Universal Enclosure, including mounting, wiring, and initial setup.

Phillips head screwdriver

Supplies needed:

#10-32 X 1/4” screws, #12-24 X 1/2” screws, Pan Ty cable ties, Tak-Tys, Fiber caution label, Laser warning label

  1. Remove the shipping bracket

    Unscrew the Phillips head screws on the top and bottom of the enclosure to remove the shipping bracket.

  2. Mount the enclosure

    Secure the enclosure to the rack by installing a minimum of four #10-32 X 1/4” screws through the mounting brackets into the rack. Ensure the enclosure is level and securely attached.

  3. Install the cassettes

    Open the enclosure door and slide the tray out to the cassette change position. Disconnect any patch cords if replacing cassettes, lift the cassette up to disengage, and install the new cassette by sliding it into place.

  4. Label the cassettes

    Clean the tray surface with alcohol and apply the provided labels according to the cassette type installed, ensuring proper identification.

  5. Route and secure patch cords

    Install patch cords into the front of the cassettes from left to right, and use Tak-Tys to group and secure incoming cables close to the tray cable manager.

  6. Verify installation

    Check all connections and ensure that the enclosure door latches securely. Confirm that all cables are routed properly and that the enclosure is stable.
