How to Install the FlexCore™ 4RU Universal Enclosure
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing the FlexCore™ 4RU Universal Enclosure, including mounting, wiring, and initial setup.

Phillips head screwdriver, Wire strippers, Multimeter
Supplies needed:
#10-32 X 1/4” screws, #12-24 X 1/2” screws, Pan Ty cable ties, Tak-Tys
- Remove the shipping bracket
Unscrew the Phillips head screws on the top and bottom of the enclosure to remove the shipping bracket.
- Mount the enclosure
Install the mounting brackets using the provided #10-32 X 1/4” screws. Secure the enclosure to the rack using a minimum of four screws, ensuring it is level and stable.
- Install the cassettes
Open the enclosure door, slide the tray out to the cassette change position, and install the cassettes by lifting them into place. Ensure they are securely engaged.
- Route and secure cables
Install patch cords into the front of the cassettes, routing them upward to the corresponding spool. Use Tak-Tys to group and secure incoming cables to prevent snagging.
- Label the installation
Apply the provided labels to the trays and the enclosure door for identification, following EIA-606-B labeling standards.
- Verify installation
Check all connections and ensure that the enclosure is securely mounted and all components are properly installed before closing the door.
