How to Install the DN6212W Net-Verse D-Type Cabinet
Installation guide for mounting and securing the DN6212W Net-Verse D-Type Cabinet.
Estimated time: 1h
Tools needed:
13mm Socket Wrench, 19mm Wrench, 122mm Level, T25 Torx driver, 8mm Hex Driver
Supplies needed:
Mounting screws, Anchors for floor mounting, Grounding Lug or Grounding Bar
- Remove Packaging Materials
Remove all stretch wrap, protective cardboard, and plastic bags from the exterior of the cabinet. Follow side panel removal instructions (Page 17) to remove protective foam and connect ground whips. Remove the two shipping hold down brackets at the front and rear of the cabinet. Use at least two persons to carefully lift and remove the cabinet from the pallet. Retain the hold down brackets if floor mounting is desired.
- Position and Level the Cabinet
Ensure the leveling legs are fully retracted. Slide the cabinet into its final position. Lower the four leveling legs until the cabinet's weight is fully supported by them. Use a 122mm level and a 19mm wrench to adjust the four leveling legs so the cabinet is level front-to-back and side-to-side.
- Secure the Cabinet to the Floor (Optional)
Ensure the four leveling legs are fully retracted. Secure the two shipping hold down brackets at the front and rear of the cabinet. Attach the anchors to the floor using appropriate hardware for your floor type. WARNING: Mount the cabinet to the floor before installing more than 500Kg (1102lbs.) of equipment to prevent tipping.
- Gang Multiple Cabinets (Optional)
Ensure cabinets are level. Remove the four side caps from the sides of the cabinets that will be ganged together. Secure the ganging brackets to the cabinets at two front and two back locations using M5 button head screws and a T25 Torx bit. Do not use ganging brackets to cinch cabinets together. WARNING: Ganging provides limited stability; ensure cabinets are properly mounted to the floor before loading.
- Ground the Cabinet
DANGER: Electrical Shock Hazard. Each cabinet must be connected to the Common Bonding Network (CBN). Attach a grounding lug or grounding bar (not included) to the Common Bonding Network (CBN), utilizing any bonus hole along the front-to-rear members of the frame. Ensure all doors, top caps, and side panels are properly connected to the cabinet frame via their terminals.
- Adjust Equipment Rail Spacing
WARNING: Falling Equipment Hazard. Remove all equipment installed onto the equipment rails before performing adjustments. For 600mm wide cabinets, remove three M5 screws from the top, middle, and bottom of the equipment rails using a T25 Torx bit. For 800mm wide cabinets, remove two M5 screws from the top and bottom, and two from the middle extensions. Adjust rails to the desired position and re-install M5 screws to 2.7 ± 0.3 N·m [23.9 ± 2.7 in-lbs].
- Install Cable Management Fingers (800mm Cabinets Only)
Adjust the two front E-rails back a minimum of 63.2mm [2.5”] as per the equipment rail spacing adjustment instructions. Install the Cable Management Finger Bracket (sold separately). Insert the tabs of the Cable Management Finger into the mounting slots next to the front Equipment Rails and slide inward to lock into place.
- Install Power Distribution Units (PDUs)
Install the first two PDUs on the two farthest back locations on either side of the cabinet. For additional PDU installation on the same side, remove the screw from the middle of the bracket. Ensure the PDU buttons align with the cabinet mounting points.
- Install Doors and Side Panels
Follow the specific instructions on pages 15, 16, and 17 for the removal and installation of single hinge doors, rear split doors, and side panels, respectively. Remember to detach and reattach grounding terminals as instructed and ensure side panels have their grounding whips attached prior to equipment installation.
