How to Install the Panduit DAP4 Data Access Port
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for safely installing and securing the Panduit DAP4 Data Access Port into an electrical panel, including hole preparation, mounting, and electrical wiring.

Tools needed:
3-1/2 inch conduit hole punch, Torque wrench or driver (capable of 32 IN*LB)
Supplies needed:
Panduit DAP4 Data Access Port, Supplied bolts (3), Supplied serrated nuts (3), Hanging Box (supplied with GFCI outlet models, if applicable)
- Prepare the Panel Hole
Use a 3-1/2 inch conduit hole punch to create the required opening in the panel for the DAP4 Data Access Port. Refer to the 'Punch Die Numbers' section in the documentation for recommended punch tools suitable for mild or stainless steel.
- Install the Data Access Port
Insert the DAP4 Data Access Port into the prepared hole from the front side of the electrical panel. Ensure the alignment tabs on the DAP are correctly oriented for proper fitment.
- Install the Lock Ring
Place the Lock Ring over the three supplied bolts on the back side of the Data Access Port. Align the features on the lock ring with the scribe lines on the inside of the panel door for proper orientation of the port.
- Secure the Lock Ring
Thread the three supplied Serrated Nuts onto the bolts. Torque each nut to 32 IN*LB to firmly secure the Lock Ring and the Data Access Port to the panel. This ensures a stable and secure installation.
- Verify Torque
After the initial torque down, re-check and ensure all three serrated nuts are torqued to the specified 32 IN*LB. This step is crucial to prevent loosening over time and maintain the integrity of the installation.
- Wire Electrical Components
Wire the electrical components of the Data Access Port according to local electrical codes and standards. WARNING: Always de-energize power before accessing an electrical enclosure. Always follow safety and lockout/tagout procedures when working on or near electrical systems and equipment. Use proper personal protective equipment (PPE). This product must be installed by a qualified worker.
- Install Hanging Box (If Applicable)
If your DAP4 Data Access Port model includes a GFCI outlet, install the Hanging Box using the two supplied bolts after the wiring for the GFCI is completed. This step is only applicable to DAP4 Data Access Ports equipped with a GFCI outlet.
