Overview

The Panduit CUD2SDS1 Net-Contain dual sliding doors are a critical component of the Universal Aisle Containment system, engineered to optimize thermal management in data centers, server rooms, and network closets. Designed for 4' (1200mm) or 6' (1800mm) aisle widths, these doors integrate seamlessly with Panduit's modular containment infrastructure to segregate hot and cold air streams, preventing air mixing and improving energy efficiency. The dual sliding design minimizes airflow disruption during access, maintaining consistent thermal performance even in high-density computing environments. The silver finish door measures 2134mm H x 1422mm W and is packaged as a pair, designed for end-of-row installation in Net-Access 600mm, 700mm, or 800mm cabinets. As part of Panduit's scalable containment solutions, the CUD2SDS1 can be added without disrupting existing equipment or cabling, providing a migration path for data center upgrades. The system leverages existing cooling infrastructure to move exhaust and cooling air efficiently, reducing operational costs while maintaining thermal control. Ideal for data centers requiring precise airflow management, the CUD2SDS1 ensures reliable performance in demanding IT environments.

How to Install the CUD2SDS1 Net-Contain Aisle Containment

Installation guide for mounting and configuring the CUD2SDS1 Net-Contain Aisle Containment system.

Estimated time: 1h

Tools needed:

Screwdriver, Bubble level, Measuring tape

Supplies needed:

Mounting screws, M5 screws, M5 nuts, 8mm (5/16") clearance hole drill bit, Floor seal kits (optional)

  1. Position the first cabinet

Position the first cabinet in the desired location, aligning its front along the cold aisle floor tile or desired location.

  2. Level the cabinet

Use a bubble level on the vertical rails to adjust the cabinet legs until the cabinet is level. Ensure adjacent cabinets are adjusted to the same height and are parallel.

  3. Align subsequent cabinets

Place the next cabinet 1-2 inches from the previous one. Level the cabinet front and back, ensuring its top and bottom align with the previous cabinet. Move the cabinet until it is flush with the previous one. Repeat for all cabinets in the row, ensuring tops are aligned.

  4. Position opposing rows of cabinets

For Vertical Wall Applications, place opposing rows of cabinets 47.6" - 49.8" (1208mm - 1266mm) apart. For Roofing applications, place opposing rows 48.0" (1200mm) apart. Align the edges of opposing cabinets within ±0.5" (13mm). Ensure all cabinets are level and plumb, maintaining a height difference of no more than ±0.25" (6mm).

  5. Prepare floor for door adapters (if applicable)

Drill up to ten 8mm (5/16") clearance holes through the floor tiles where the Door Adapter feet will be attached. Use a minimum of two screws per foot for securing.

  6. Attach diagonal braces to wall panels

Secure two wall panel braces to the back of each wall panel using two M5 screws per brace.

  7. Apply foam seal to wall panels

Cut a strip of foam seal to the width of the top of the wall panel and apply it to the top flange.

  8. Attach brace bar to cabinet (600mm and 700mm cabinets only)

Attach the brace bar to the top of the cabinet using two M5 screws, ensuring it is centered. Orient the flange on the brace bar towards the rear for 1070mm deep cabinets and towards the front for 1200mm deep cabinets.

  9. Attach wall panel to cabinet

For 600mm and 700mm cabinets: Remove two existing M5 screws from the top cap. Secure the wall panel to the top of the cabinet using the removed screws, ensuring the wall panel faces the rear (Hot Aisle). Level the wall panel and secure the two diagonal braces to the wall panel support with two M5 nuts. For 800mm cabinets: Remove two existing M5 screws from the top cap. Secure the wall panel to the top of the cabinet using the removed screws and an additional two M5 screws to fasten the braces to the cabinet. Use the appropriate holes in the diagonal brace based on cabinet depth.

  10. Set wall panel height

Raise the wall panel to the desired height. Loosely install the two adjustment screws on the front of the wall panel. Level the panel relative to the lower wall and then tighten the adjustment screws to secure it.

  11. Install upper seal

Size the upper seal by attaching it to the wall panel with four M5 nuts, marking 1/8 inch above the cut-out, and then cutting along the mark. Attach the sized upper seal between two wall panels using four M5 nuts.

  12. Install lower seal

Attach a strip of foam seal to the width of the bottom seal. Using four M5 nuts, attach the bottom seal with the foam strip between two wall panels.

  13. Ganging cabinets (optional)

Attach ganging brackets to the top and bottom of the rear of the cabinet using two M5 screws for each bracket. Repeat for the front of the cabinet. Consider attaching floor seal kits after ganging.
