This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing the CDE3 Switch Ducting System, including mounting, wiring, and securing the switch.

Tools needed:
#2 Phillips Screwdriver, 5/16” Socket Wrench, 3/8” Socket Wrench
Supplies needed:
Mounting screws (#12-24 Phillips screws), External Tooth Washers, Hex head grounding screws, Cage nuts
- Install Cage Nuts
Insert (3) cage nuts per front and rear equipment rail at the CDE3 component mounting locations. Ensure (1) grounding cage nut is installed in (1) front and (1) rear equipment rail on either the left or right-hand side.
- Install Switch Ducting
Position the Switch Ducting so that the perforated door faces the cold aisle. Align the mounting holes with the installed cage nuts and secure using (5) #12-24 Phillips screws, (5) #12 External Tooth Washers, and (1) hex head grounding screw using a 5/16” socket wrench.
- Install Switch Support Bracket
Position the Switch Support Bracket so that the mounting holes align with the cage nuts in the rear equipment rails. Secure it using (5) #12-24 Phillips screws, (5) #12 External Tooth Washers, and (1) hex head grounding screw using a 5/16” socket wrench.
- Route Switch Power Cable
Before installing the switch, route the power cord through the Switch Ducting and Switch Support Bracket. Slit grommets as needed to allow for power cord pass-through and secure the cord using cable ties.
- Install the Switch
Slide the switch onto the positioning flanges of the Switch Support Bracket. Insert the inlet side of the switch into the rear opening of the Switch Ducting. Secure the switch using (6) #10-32 acorn nuts and (6) #10 External Tooth Washers with a 3/8” socket wrench.
- Secure Chassis Side Brackets
Align the holes in the Chassis Side Brackets with the switch ducting and secure them using (4) #12-24 Phillips screws and (4) #12 External Tooth Washers.
