Overview

The NSI Industries SP250 Set Screw Plug is a direct replacement part designed to protect the set screw ports of Polaris pre-insulated connectors sized for 250 MCM (thousand circular mils) wire. Each SP250 plug fits securely into the set screw port, preventing debris, moisture, corrosion, and other contaminants from compromising the connection. This ensures the integrity of the set screw and maintains low-contact resistance, which is critical for reliable electrical performance in high-current applications. Engineered for compatibility with Polaris IPL250 series connectors, the SP250 plug is pre-filled with an oxide inhibitor to further enhance connection reliability. The plug features a 5/16-inch internal hex drive, allowing for easy installation and removal using standard hex key tools. The set screw plug is constructed from durable materials to withstand the rigors of industrial environments, including exposure to abrasive conditions, chemicals, and UV rays. The SP250 is part of a comprehensive system of pre-insulated connectors designed for splicing applications in cable trays, panel boards, ducts, raceways, and troughs. These connectors eliminate the need for additional coverings or taping, streamlining installation and reducing material costs. The aluminum alloy body of the connectors is wrapped in high-dielectric strength plastisol insulation, providing both electrical safety and ergonomic handling. The connectors are dual-rated for 90°C copper and/or aluminum conductors and are cold temperature rated to -45°C, ensuring performance in a wide range of environmental conditions. Each SP250 set screw plug is sold in a standard container quantity of 12, making it ideal for bulk installations or stocking purposes. The plug is a critical component for maintaining the integrity of electrical connections in demanding industrial and commercial applications, where reliability and durability are paramount.
