Overview

The NSI Industries DE711 is a copper solderless lug designed for secure, high-conductivity wire terminations in industrial and commercial electrical systems. Constructed from 99.98% pure electrolytic copper, this single-piece lug delivers superior mechanical strength and electrical performance for demanding applications. The DE711 accommodates copper wire sizes from 4 to 14 AWG with a maximum ampacity of 70 amperes, making it ideal for branch circuit connections, motor controls, and distribution panels where reliable conductivity is critical. Key features include steel-plated screws to prevent rusting and ensure long-term corrosion resistance, even in harsh environments. The lug is rated for 600 volts maximum (2000V per UL486B) and operates reliably at temperatures up to 90°C. For wire sizes 25 to 70 amperes, the DE711 uses slotted head screws for easy installation, while larger wire sizes require hex head screws for enhanced torque retention. The mounting bolt size is 1/4 inch, with a recommended torque value of 90 in./lbs. to ensure proper compression without damaging the conductor. Physical dimensions are optimized for space-constrained installations: length 1.310 inches, width 0.500 inches, height 0.560 inches, with a tang length of 0.250 inches and thickness of 0.080 inches. The mounting hole diameter is 0.280 inches, allowing compatibility with standard hardware. Each standard carton contains 50 units for bulk installations, reducing procurement and inventory overhead. The DE711 is not suitable for aluminum wire or applications exceeding its 70A rating. For larger conductors or higher ampacities, refer to NSI’s DE706 (1/0-6 AWG) or DE713 (3/0-4 AWG) series.
