How to Install the SRG8-4 Connector

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing the SRG8-4 connector for a raised floor grounding system.

Estimated time: 45m

Tools needed:

Screwdriver, Wire brush, Crimping tool, Multimeter

Supplies needed:

Mounting screws, Nut and bolt, Connector body, Cable

  1. Secure the connector

Locate and orient the SRG8-4 connector on the pedestal post. Secure it into position by tightening the provided nut and bolt to 275 in-lbs.

  2. Prepare the cable

Determine the areas along the length of the cable where terminations will be performed. Clean the cable of all visible dirt with a rough cloth or brush and ensure a bright copper finish by wire brushing.

  3. Crimp the connector

Match the proper die code number for the connector and cable size. Place the cable in the cable bore of the connector, then position the connector's cable bore on one of the die halves. Perform the initial crimp closest to the body of the connector, followed by any additional required crimps.

  4. Inspect the installation

Verify that the embossed die numbers on the hex flats indicate the installing die used. Ensure the connector is secured using all four bolt holes provided.
