Overview

The ABB NPL31/2X12-G PVC Coated Conduit Nipple is a corrosion-resistant, hot-dip galvanized steel fitting designed for industrial electrical installations in harsh environments. Measuring 3-1/2 inches in pipe size and 12 inches in length, this nipple features a nominal 0.002-inch (2 mil) blue urethane coating on the interior for chemical resistance and a minimum 0.040-inch (40 mil) PVC coating on the exterior for mechanical protection. The threads are coated with blue urethane to prevent corrosion and galling during assembly. The exterior is finished in standard dark gray PVC, with custom colors available upon request. This conduit nipple is ideal for applications in chemical plants, water treatment facilities, food processing plants, and other corrosive environments where standard steel fittings would degrade quickly. The hot-dip galvanized steel core provides superior strength and rigidity, while the dual-layer coating system ensures long-term durability against moisture, chemicals, and abrasion. The product complies with ANSI C80.1-1994 standards and is manufactured in the USA by ABB Installation Products. Key features include color-coded thread protectors for easy size identification, stainless steel hardware (sold separately), and compatibility with Ocal-Blue® double-coat split couplings for field installations where standard couplings cannot be used.
