The ABB HSC8-4 Heat-Shrinkable End Caps, part of the HSC Series, provide efficient and positive cable end sealing for industrial and electrical applications. Designed for conductor sizes ranging from 8 to 6 AWG, these end caps feature a minimum expanded inner diameter of 0.51 inches and a usable cap length of 2.5 inches. Constructed from thermally stabilized, cross-linked polyolefin, the interior of the HSC8-4 is coated with a meltable sealant, ensuring a watertight seal, complete insulation, and resistance to abrasion and corrosion. This construction allows the seals to be affected over various materials including lead, steel, aluminum, copper, and all standard plastic and elastomeric insulating materials, as well as conduit. These heat-shrinkable end caps offer a reliable alternative to greases, tapes, epoxy, encapsulation, or dips, with installation often accomplished in under a minute. The HSC8-4 is rated for 600 Volts and 90°C continuous use, meeting ANSI C119.1-1986 and ICEA electrical withstand test standards for 1,000 volts. They can be used as a live seal for cables carrying up to 1,000V or as end seals for storing and pulling de-energized cable. The heat-shrinkable design simplifies installation, providing a secure and professional finish. The material boasts a 10-year shelf life, ensuring long-term availability and performance.
