How to Install the HS-KIT Insulation Tubing

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing the HS-KIT insulation tubing over existing insulation to ensure proper insulation and protection.

Estimated time: 30m

Tools needed:

Screwdriver, Heat gun (WT1400), Wire strippers

Supplies needed:

Insulation tubing, Solder or brazing materials (if applicable)

  1. Select the proper size tubing

Choose insulation tubing with a recovered diameter smaller than the area to be insulated, ensuring the expanded diameter can fit over the existing insulation.

  2. Cut the tubing to length

Cut the insulation tubing to the required length, allowing for a minimum overlap of 1/4 inch on each side of the splice.

  3. Slide the tubing into position

Carefully slide the tubing over the existing insulation and out of the way. Make the splice as desired, and allow to cool if soldered or brazed.

  4. Position the tubing over the splice

Slide the tubing over the center of the splice, ensuring equal overlap on both sides.

  5. Apply heat to shrink the tubing

Use the WT1400 heat gun to apply heat evenly over the length and outer diameter of the tubing until it shrinks and conforms to the splice shape. Allow it to cool before applying any physical stress.
