Overview

The ABB HSMW3500-48 is a medium-wall heat-shrinkable tubing designed for robust cable insulation and protection in industrial environments. This tubing features a substantial 3.5-inch expanded inner diameter and a 48-inch length, providing ample coverage for larger cables and splices. It is rated for 600 Volts and continuous operation at 90°C, meeting UL 486D standards for reliability. Constructed from high-quality, black cross-linked polyolefin, the HSMW3500-48 incorporates a thermoplastic adhesive liner. Upon application of heat, this liner melts to form a permanent, watertight seal, effectively protecting the underlying cable from moisture, corrosion, and environmental contaminants. The thick wall construction offers excellent mechanical protection and is suitable for direct burial applications according to UL 486D. The outer wall is flame retardant, meeting UL 224 VW-1 flammability requirements. This heat shrink tubing also meets the performance requirements of AMS-DTL-23053/15. Its operating temperature range is from -67°F to 230°F (-55°C to 110°C). The shrink ratio is 3:1, allowing for versatile application over a range of cable diameters.
