Overview

The ABB GUAB14-TB is a 1/2 inch hazardous location conduit outlet box engineered for classified industrial environments where flammable gases, vapors, or combustible dusts may be present. Constructed from Grade 60-45-10 ductile iron (ASTM A536) with a zinc-plated finish and aluminum acrylic paint, the box delivers exceptional corrosion resistance and durability. The die-cast aluminum cover features an O-ring gasket for watertight protection, meeting UL514A requirements for wet locations when properly installed. This outlet box includes five full threads on all hubs with integral bushings for secure conduit connections, ensuring reliable performance in explosionproof and dust-ignitionproof applications. The internal volume of 6.9 cubic inches accommodates standard 1/2 inch NPT conduit fittings, making it suitable for junction points in rigid conduit systems. Each box includes an internal grounding screw for electrical safety and facilitates easy access to wiring for maintenance or modifications. Class II, Division 1, Groups E, F & G; and Class III, Division 1 & 2 hazardous locations, the GUAB14-TB also meets NEMA 3, 4, 7 CD, and 9 EFG standards. Typical applications include conduit runs requiring direction changes, wire pulling junctions, or multiple conduit attachments in long runs. The combination of ductile iron construction and die-cast aluminum cover ensures robust protection against physical damage and external elements while maintaining electrical integrity in hazardous environments.
