Supplies needed:
Ground rods, GR34-202 connectors, Cable (2 AWG to 2/0 AWG)
- Prepare the cable
Clean the cable of all visible dirt using a rough cloth or brush. Ensure the cable has a bright copper finish by wire brushing or a similar process.
- Position the cable
Insert the cable end into the GR34-202 connector, ensuring that it protrudes at least 3/4” beyond the connector.
- Crimp the connector
Using a hydraulic crimping tool with die 15G121R, apply two crimps to secure the connector to the cable.
- Optional knurling
If using smooth ground rods, apply the knurling tool (240-31565-94) to the ground rods for better grip before installation.
