This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing the Flood Seal Submersible Splice Cover FSS 20 & FSS 20L, designed for watertight sealing of low voltage cable splice joints. WARNING: Installation must be performed by trained installers following all applicable electrical codes and safety rules.

Cable cutting tool, Insulation stripping tool, Applicator (for grease/silicone)
Supplies needed:
Flood Seal Submersible Splice Cover (FSS 20 or FSS 20L), Silicone grease, Electrical connector, Insulated low voltage cable
- Select Correct Cut-Off Ring
Select the correct cut-off ring on the rocket sleeve and cap that corresponds to the specific cable size being used for the splice.
- Cut Rocket Sleeve and Cap
Cut off the rocket sleeve and cap at the tip of the arrow, ensuring that the marking for the correct cable size remains visible on both the opened rocket sleeve and the cap.
- Prepare Cable Insulation
Bevel or pencil the cable insulation by 1/4 inch (6mm) to facilitate easier and smoother installation of the splice cover components.
- Apply Silicone Grease
Apply silicone grease to the prepared cable insulation to aid in sliding the splice cover components into place and to enhance sealing.
- Slide Rocket and Cap Over Cable
Slide the pre-cut rocket sleeve and cap over the prepared cable, positioning them appropriately for the splice.
- Install Electrical Connector
Install the appropriate electrical connector onto the prepared cable conductors, ensuring a secure and proper connection.
- Seal Housing
Apply silicone to the open edge of the rocket sleeve. Then, carefully slide the two halves of the Flood Seal Housing together, centering the housing precisely over the installed electrical connection to create a watertight seal.
