How to Install the CKPM Controller
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing and configuring the CKPM Controller for use in wet locations.
Estimated time: 45m
Tools needed:
Screwdriver, Pliers, Drill, Wire strippers, Multimeter
Supplies needed:
Mounting screws, Wasp guard, Adapters (Round/Switch, Duplex), Gasket
- Turn off power
Ensure that the electrical power is turned off to avoid any electrical hazards during installation.
- Install the wasp guard
Remove the knockout from the bottom port of the base using pliers. Peel the protective backing from the adhesive side of the wasp guard and position it on the outside of the curved rib in the open port. Fold the wasp guard along the top surface and secure it to the inside of the curved rib.
- Select the appropriate adapter
Determine the desired adapter based on your receptacle type. For a round receptacle, choose either the 1-3/8" or 1-9/16" adapter and remove the inner circle. If using the 1-9/16" round receptacle, break away and trim the curved sections from the base.
- Install the base
Attach the base to the electrical box using the receptacle screws. Ensure the base is positioned with the cover hinge on top and the open port on the bottom. Tighten the screws until the heads extend 5/8" from the receptacle strap face.
- Install the cover
Place the cover onto the base, aligning the hinge holes. Insert the stainless steel hinge pin through the top hole to secure the cover in place.
- Seal irregular surfaces
If the base is installed on an irregular surface, apply caulk or sealant around the base to prevent water entry.
- Turn on power
After completing the installation, restore power to the circuit and verify that the CKPM Controller is functioning correctly.
