AMC-0751 Metal Clad Cable Gland, Metal clad cable, Enclosure, Locknut (if required)
- Disconnect Power and Prepare Cable
WARNING: Risk of shock, disconnect power before installation. Select the appropriate AMC-0751 cable gland for your enclosure and cable. Determine the working length needed inside the enclosure. Prepare the metal clad cable by exposing the armor to a length of 31.75 mm (1.250 in), referring to dimension 'L' in the product documentation.
- Install Cable Gland to Enclosure
Install the AMC-0751 cable gland into the enclosure. This can be done either into a threaded hole or by using a locknut. If using a locknut, hand-tighten it, then further tighten it an additional 1/4 turn using an appropriate wrench.
- Feed Cable Through Gland
If the conductor bundle does not pass through, the armor stop may need to be removed. Feed the prepared metal clad cable through the cable gland. Push the cable until its armor makes contact with the armor stop or the body of the gland.
- Tighten Gland Nut for Optimal Seal
Tighten the gland nut to an approximate torque of 22.60 N-m (200.0 lbf-in) or until an appropriate seal is achieved. Ensure the sealing ring seals evenly around the cable’s outer jacket. Keep the cable as centered as possible to obtain an optimal seal.
